Reverend Dr.

David W. Green, Sr.

Reverend Doctor David W. Green, Sr., the youngest of five children, was born to the late Presiding Elder Henry and Mrs. Irene Green in Miami, Florida. Dr. Green began his formal education in the public schools of Orlando, Florida at Richmond Heights Elementary School, Carver Junior High School and graduated from Oak Ridge High School. He is a graduate of Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia, and Turner Theological Seminary, Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He holds the Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. [Dissertation topic, “Developing a Ministry to Address End of Life Issues in the African American Community”].

Dr. Green was appointed Senior Pastor of Saint Stephen African Methodist Episcopal Church in
Jacksonville, Florida on November 18, 2016. He served as the Senior Pastor of Allen Temple African
Methodist Episcopal Church in Tampa Florida from 2012-2016 and Mount Olive African Methodist
Episcopal Church in Orlando, Florida from 2004-2008. In 1993, he was appointed the Senior Pastor of
Greater Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Gainesville, Florida and served that
congregation for 11 years. Under his leadership, Greater Bethel relocated and build a new church
facility. Previous pastoral charges also include St. Stephen AME Church in Bradenton, Florida 1989-1993. Dr. Green’s ministry encompassed a holistic realm enabling him to provide ministry to a diverse population of people.

• Member, Rotary Club Inc. (2008 – Present)
• Former Chaplain, University Florida Fighting Gator Football Team (1996 – 2004, 2011 – 2016)
• 2017 Turner Theological Seminary Hall of Fame Inductee
• Life Member, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
• Member, Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
• State Chaplain of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Florida (2012 – 2015)
• Master Mason, Prince Hall Masonic Family
• Ordained an Itinerant Elder in the A.M.E. Church (1987)

Reverend Green’s life, dedication, and commitment are exemplary of a true Prophet of God. He is
married to Kimberly C. Green, and they have one son, Reverend David William Green, Jr.. He is
the brother of the late Minerva Green, Reverend Dr. Henry E. Green, Jr., Reverend Dr. John F. Green,
and Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr.
